Epic Games launches parental controls for safer Fortnite gaming

With new features implemented, parents can now control and limit the duration of Fortnite gameplay for their kids.

On Tuesday, Epic Games introduced a new feature that allows parents to regulate their children’s gameplay in the highly popular video game Fortnite.

The title has attracted a large audience of young players, leading to rising concerns among guardians and educators regarding excessive screen time, exposure to violent content, and potential risks associated with online interactions.

With these updated parental controls, kids will receive alerts as they approach their daily gaming limit in this competitive survival game. Moreover, parents can set specific times for when Fortnite can be accessed and receive detailed reports on their child’s gaming habits, as noted by Epic Games.

"This feature empowers parents and caregivers to track and manage their child's gaming time effectively", Epic stated in a blog post. The "Time Limit" function is compatible across various devices and consoles, provided the child uses the same account.

By implementing these controls, Epic Games not only enhances parental oversight but also promotes healthier gaming habits among children, ensuring a safer and more balanced gaming experience.
