“Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint” is the first game to offer NFTs
French developer Ubisoft has unveiled a platform allowing gamers to buy and play NFTs (non-fungible tokens) in its video games. This is the first time that a gaming studio is launching such a large-scale experiment involving blockchain technology.
The online platform is called Ubisoft Quartz and it will be accessible in nine countries. It will allow players to buy “Digits” in different video games. They are unique collectable objects with their own serial numbers which other gamers can see.
The first title which will include this feature is “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint”. Players will be able to buy items such as vehicles and weapons which can then be resold to other gamers.
