Streamers can now earn money through the chat function on Twitch

Twitch understands the growing significance of live streams in the realm of social networking. Livestreams not only enhance user engagement and time spent on the platform but also provide an avenue for creators to earn money through existing monetization features like Bits, a virtual currency that enables viewer support.

To further empower streamers, Twitch has introduced Hype Chat, a new service that allows users to pay for the opportunity to have their comments pinned to the top of the chat window. As popular creators often receive a flood of comments during streams, it can be challenging for viewers to stand out. Hype Chat aims to address this by offering users the option to pay for increased visibility. At present, this feature is exclusive to Twitch partner creators.

Users have control over the amount they wish to pay, ranging from $1 to $500, while streamers can set a minimum payment threshold, up to $100, for pinned comments. The selected payment determines various factors such as the duration of the comment's prominence, character limits, and distinct visual appearance.

It is important to note that while payment can enhance visibility, comments must still adhere to Twitch's moderation policies. Each comment will undergo analysis by Twitch's AutoMod moderation tool and chat moderators.
