Twitch’s subscriptions will be based on a country’s cost of living

Twitch is considering a change regarding the pricing of its subscriptions. They will now be based on the country in which its users live. This move is meant to support creators financially.

On streaming platform Twitch, a subscription allows a user to support a streamer. In return, they can fully enjoy the creator’s chat and acquire accessories for free. Currently, a subscription has a fixed price of $4.99.

In an effort to increase Twitch’s outreach across the world, the prices will be dropped to match the cost of living of the country. This will also allow content creators to gain better revenues from the streams. The company has also launched a 12-month program to provide eligible streamers with a baseline revenue to support their channel.
