This partnership will allow Voodoo’s games to reach the Asian market

French video game developer, Voodoo, has announced that it sold a minority stake of its company to Chinese tech giant, Tencent.

The gaming studio was founded in 2013. It is mainly known for its easy-to-play mobile video games. Some of them include “Hole.io”, “Purple Diver” and “Helix Jump”. Since the involvement of Tencent, Voodoo is now valued at 1.2 billion euros.

The Chinese company is one of the world’s largest smartphone gaming companies. Since the Covid-19 outbreak, Tencent has also experienced a boost as people were stuck at home and spent more time on their phones.

According to Voodoo, this collaboration will help them in regards to their growth strategy. Furthermore, it will allow their games to break into the Asian market.
