“Rainbow Six Siege” will see a new regional esports structure

Ubisoft has announced a host of cool things for the future of “Rainbow Six Siege”. It includes a port to the next generation of consoles and a new regional structure for its esports championships.

According to the developers of “Rainbow Six Siege”, the tactical team action video game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X when they launch. Cross-console multiplayer will also be added to the title.

Still, cross-play remains tricky as both Sony and Microsoft will have to agree to it.

Ubisoft has also announced its plans to fully regionalise its competitive tournament format.

Soon, the European, North American, Latin American and Asia-Pacific regions will be able to control the set-up of the different competitions. This should allow them to be better prepared for the international “Rainbow Six Invitational” event.
