Microsoft might be working on two new next-generation consoles and this will include one that will work with the cloud gaming!

The information comes from Thurrott who indeed mentioned that one of the machines will be a traditional device while the second will launch the games in streaming!

While “Scarlett” is the name that is being used around the web to refer to the future generation of Microsoft's gaming devices, Thurrott revealed that it was several consoles coming and not a single one. It’s all set for a 2020 release!

The first console is likely to be a traditional one, with a disk drive and hardware that will run games in 4K/HDR.

When it comes to the second, it will be dedicated to cloud gaming.

It will not be as powerful, but will be able to run any game in streaming mode. It’s likely to have a small storage space to help manage the controllers, the display, and do some live calculations, such as collisions.

This console will be cheaper, but it will still come at a higher price than a Chromecast or a Shadow. However, it will definitely be sold below the market price of traditional consoles.

To limit latency, Microsoft will open its Datacenters and Microsoft Azure. The latter is a hosting offer for servers and it’s a service for professionals. A monthly subscription called “Scarlett Cloud”, similar to the current Xbox Game Pass, will then be created to give players access to a game directory without having to download any of them! As you would have guessed, this will depend on their internet connection!
