The Vision Pro headset has been launched

Apple has made a significant product announcement by unveiling its first mixed-reality headset, the Vision Pro, which aims to compete with Meta, the company behind Facebook.

Although the mixed reality market has primarily attracted video gamers and tech enthusiasts, Apple is looking to expand its reach. Priced at $3,499 and set to launch early next year in the United States, the Vision Pro received positive initial feedback.

Apple CEO Tim Cook described it as a revolutionary product, highlighting the performance, immersion, and capability that only Apple can deliver. Unlike its competitors, the Vision Pro focuses on delivering mixed reality technology, providing users with an experience that combines virtual elements with their physical environment.

With its sleek design and emphasis on minimalism, Apple aims to overcome the challenges faced by other virtual reality headsets in terms of comfort and adoption. By projecting the user's eyes on an external screen, Apple intends to create a more seamless and immersive experience. The launch puts Apple on a collision course with Meta, which recently expanded its line of Quest virtual reality headgear.
