5G-enabled PCs promises high-speed internet everywhere

In 2020, over 10.1 million 3G-, 4G- and 5G-enabled notebook PCs were sold worldwide. These laptops have the particularity of keeping users connected to the internet at all times. With the rollout of 5G, this could boost the sales of such computers.

Global shipments for notebook PCs have risen almost 70% in 2020 and North America accounts for almost half of all sales with Europe and Asia-Pacific zones taking nearly all the rest. Overall, there are more than 26 million cellular-enabled PCs currently in use across the world.

Qualcomm and Intel are the two key providers of 5G ships and they promise ultra-fast connection speeds even when users are far from their home Wi-Fi network. With 5G, notebook PCs could greatly improve livestream videos and the use of VR tools.
